The Santa Fe International Festival of Electroacoustic Music (SFIFEM) is an annual festival celebrating the interface between music and technology. Creative musicians and composers have always been involved with the leading technology of the day - from the modern piano to the digital computer and beyond. But SFIFEM's focus is never on the technology per se. Rather, we showcase the creative uses to which this technology is put.
A program of the Contemporary Music Program of the College of Santa Fe, SFIFEM has a history - since 1997 - of presenting cutting-edge international electroacoustic music performances, broadcasts, installations, lectures, workshops, and master-classes in the Santa Fe, New Mexico region. The festival is curated and produced by its founding director, Steven M. Miller.
